Digital & Boards
Help your board understand the implications of digital and technology so they can provide valuable oversight and guidance.
Building up the board’s digital aptitude isn’t about turning directors into proficient technologists. Rather, the goal is for the board to understand the implications of technology and digital on the business and sources of revenue. When thoughtfully applied, technology can enable a huge leap over standard approaches in terms of delivery speeds, costs, and quality – often by a factor of 10. This allows companies to test new markets, products, and business models at much greater speeds, and at lower costs.

Overview of Boards:
A board of directors is meant to provide strong governance to organisations, including non-profits. Board members (directors) should be capable of giving valuable insights into the various aspects of running a business, including strategy, finances, legal issues, digital transformation, ESG and marketing. Board members are expected to act in the company’s best interests and align the interests of shareholders and managers.

Board Effectiveness:
Corporate events in the last decade have made it clear that boards can fail. Failure has come in various guises: failure to manage risks, to proactively contribute to firm strategy, to identify the ‘right’ team, and in some cases, to deal with integrity issues and possibly outright fraud. It is also clear that we need better governance at all levels. The latter calls for increasing board effectiveness.
